What is media?

I would like to have a variety of media in my classroom if possible. I didn't plan on having a smart board until I realize what it allowed me to do such as show documents, PowerPoint's, videos, play interactive games and give my future students a opportunity to challenge themselves how to learn in a new different way . Along with the smart board I plan on having a computer, CD/tape player, voice recorder and over head projector. I will choose the best available media that will be sufficent enough to help teach a lesson to my future students. I will determine what media is appropriate to use by thinking about my studnets, if it requires interaction or indiviudal learning and which one helps my students learn successfully.
